Friends of Westdene (PTA & Charity)

FOW is run completely by volunteers; parents and carers like you who can contribute a couple of hours of their time each month. We welcome and appreciate everyone's help. 

The FOW plays an increasingly vital role in raising money to provide resources and improve facilities for all the children at Westdene Primary School.  We keep parents up to date with details of our fund raising and fund spending in the weekly school Friday Update, on the notice-boards around the school, and on Facebook.  

Over the past few years FOW has raised and contributed tens of thousands of pounds to the school, but with austerity measures from central government, and council funding not keeping up with requirements, the school needs more help.  We at FOW want to help keep the school running as amazingly as it has shown it can do historically. 

FOW is a registered charity and, in addition to helpers at fundraising events, it needs a few individuals to take up formal posts such as Chairperson, Co-Chair, Secretary and Treasurer. In addition to these posts, there is a raft of volunteers needed for each and every event or project.

The committee meets once a month - usually either at the school or remotely via Zoom - and anyone is welcome to attend. Committee meeting dates are normally the first Thursday of the Month, and please contact us for more details if you’d like to join one.

Each Class has at least one FOW Class Rep. We help support them with our class rep coordinator.
